This past weekend I took some time off from work and the real world and headed to Dana Point, California for my best friend, Mark Thomas's 21st birthday!! We started the road trip off at 5 in the morning on Friday the 10th. Drives are always my favorite because you get to rest and play car games and blast music with your favorite people! I have been on 4 road trips with Mark Thomas and I can say we never have a dull moment. I love every minute I get to spend with my best friend! When we arrived in California we checked in and then headed to the beach to relax, ride some bikes and enjoy each others company while also enjoying the perfect California weather. After a lazy afternoon we got all dressed up and headed to dinner. It is tradition that we go to P.F. Chang's for Marks birthday dinner and every P.F. Chang's was super busy so finally we settled on an hour and a half wait. I was happy where we were waiting because the restaurant was connected to a mall that had the BIGGEST Forever 21 i have ever seen! (and I have been to many forever 21s) I was all dressed up with wedges on and shirt tucked in so I told myself I would not try on anything, I would just go look... (never just go look) I tried on so many clothes and finally walked out with three shirts with perfect timing to go sit down at the restaurant. Dinner was great and then we all headed home and conked out, we were so tired from the drive. Saturday morning we woke up and headed to six flags!!!!!!! I LOVE SIX FLAGS! I have been three times in the past year I love it so much! I love the thrill of the roller coasters its such a rush! We got to the park right when they opened so we ran to our favorite ride X2! All day we rode rides and finally as it was getting darker I started to feel a little dizzy and sick so luckily we headed out to go get dinner. We were going to go try some fun restaurant in L.A. but ended up at a mexican food place and a hamburger place. I am limited on what I can eat so I went to the burger place and got a shake and fries that were to die for! they were sooo yummy! After dinner we headed home to go sing happy birthday to mark and just relax and talk. Mark, Sharla and I went to the hot tub for a little to get warm and relax our feet from walking all day. Sunday morning we got up in a rush to hurry and pack and get ready for church and head out. We all thought we were going to a HOTTIE singles ward that we had gone to the year before but ended up being a family ward.... it's alright we enjoyed sacrament meeting and then headed to get something to eat. Although vacations have the excitement of theme parks or relaxation at the beach my favorite things about vacations are the times I can sit back and enjoy friends, family and the beauty of the earth. When we would go to bed every night we all had "pillow talk" and just talked about life, I love those moments. Also when we went to brunch after church I walked over to the closest store to get some gluten free food and just enjoyed the wind blowing in my hair and the sunshine on that beautiful sunday that I got to spend in California. I am so blessed that I have opportunities to go on mini vacations and take a step back and relax from the real world! Now here are some photos from my trip! Enjoy!
No hottie ward? DANG! I love roller coasters and have NEVER been to six flags! Maybe we should go sometime?
