So a couple months ago one of my friends asked if I wanted to do a New York trip, at first it was just a thought and I said yes that would be fun but then weeks went by and it all became real when we had to buy our plane tickets. A couple weeks after just thinking about the trip we booked our red eye flight to New York City and then two of our other friends jumped on the vacation with us! Time has just flown by, it is now four days until we are on the plane to New York! I am going with four of my friends, they are all so adventurous and fun so I am way excited to be in New York City with them!! We have so many plans that we have to pack into the five days we are in New York! Some of our plans consist of..... shopping Mama Mia Broadway show the Today show studio tours top of the Rock shopping eating yummy new food bike rides in Central Park shopping Statue of Liberty shopping ohhh and did I mention shopping!!! needless to say I am ecstatic for this trip, to get away from mesa with some of my friends! We decided that we better take this trip while we are all not married yet and have this money to spend on us and not a family. Goodbye heat and cactus, hellllooooooo movie starssss!!!!

eleven things

1. Where are you?

I am currently in Mesa, Arizona enjoying the beautiful spring weather, working and going to school!

2. What is your most recent "pin" on pinterest?

these colored pants are to die for! I love love bright colors! I wear the most random colors together and don't care if it looks crazy because I just love color too much!

3. Dream little girl name? Boy name?

My first baby girls name will be Ryann Nicole! and my first boys name will be Rackston or Raxton haven't decided on spelling! I am in love with both these names!

4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I want to be graduated from Dental Hygiene school and working with a hubby and a baby on the way!

5. When you meet someone new, how do you decide if they have friend potential?

When I meet someone new I am super open with being friends with anyone. It sounds weird, but I do get good/bad vibes about people so honestly it just depends how I feel around them and if we click (meaning have the same interests)

6. Favorite blog of the moment and why?

My favorite blog as of late is my sister Liz Lyons because I have been reading back to when she first blogged and I love to read about her life, I sometimes find things out that I didn't know, it's fun!

7. One thing that you would change if you could.

Sooooo I am allergic to gluten meaning flour.... yes i still can eat a lot! haha but I would change that right now just because I am going to Mexico for Spring Break and LOVE LOVE the tortillas and tacos on the beach and am sad I wont be able to eat them but I guess I am saving myself calories! gotta stay positive!! You may be wondering how I know if the tortillas and tacos are good?... I have not always been allergic to flour I got diagnosed with Celiac Disease three years ago, so I have tried the tortillas and tacos before!

8. If you had to fast for 40 days & 40 nights... what food would you want to scarf first?

I would make myself gluten free cake balls! I am such a sweet tooth and love these little delights! I am currently on a diet for spring break and as soon as I get home I am making myself some cake balls! haha

9. Favorite thing about the state you currently live in?

My favorite thing about Arizona right now are the spring blossoms they smell soo good and look so pretty!! (I took this picture literally right outside of my garage)

10. When was the last time you stayed up past 3am and why?

I actually stayed up a little past 3am last night. I was hanging out with one of my good friends, Jake and we were making C.D.'s for my Mexico trip!!!

11. What are you looking forward to the most this week?

MEXICOOOOOO!!!! SPRING BREAK 2012!!!! I leave Saturday for Mexico and I am overly excited for my Spring Break! I need some time to relax and be away from mesa... I have had a lot on my mind lately and I am excited to push it all away for a week while I bask in the warm sun while laying on the beach enjoying my whole families company!

Be My Valentine

ok so I know pretty much every body's favorite holiday is probably Christmas or their birthday haha but not mine. My favorite holiday is... wait for it.... VALENTINE'S DAY! I am not kidding either. I think why I like it so much is because all growing up my mom always made my Valentine's day super special. I love the color pink so waking up on February 14th and seeing pink milk and pancakes and eggs with chocolates everywhere just made my day! People always complain and talk about how they don't have a "valentine" but who cares one day you will so just enjoy your day with out one! This Valentine's Day I decided to have a party! I have always wanted to be an event planner ever since I was young so why not put my talent to the test and throw a party! The day after I decided I wanted a party I went to SEVEN stores looking for fun food, treats, candy, decorations and a PINATA. haha I wanted a heart pinanta at my party so bad.... fail no store had one. Sooooooo every party has to have a little drama right? The day I made my event on facebook and texted people about it my friend from my singles ward told me he was having a party as well and asked if I wanted to combine. My friend from work was helping me co-host and invited a bunch of her friends so I felt bad intruding on his party so we kept our parties separate. His party was supposed to be at this girls house who lived a couple neighborhoods away from me, well the party got moved to his house and just guess where he lives... ohhhh right across my front yard is his front door. haha It was hilarious because the night of the party people didn't know which house to go into. Both our parties turned out super fun! I had a great turn out and I am sure he did as well! February 14th rolled around and I got the party all set up with a whole lot of help from my family. My family is so supportive in anything I do, they are behind me 100% of the way, I love it! We had pink hearts everywhere in my house it looked like cupid threw up on my walls and we had pink, red, and white candies and treats! We had a fire going and music playing. I enjoyed everybody's company who stopped by and I hope I gave some singles ladies and gents a happy Valentines day that they will remember!

California here we come

This past weekend I took some time off from work and the real world and headed to Dana Point, California for my best friend, Mark Thomas's 21st birthday!! We started the road trip off at 5 in the morning on Friday the 10th. Drives are always my favorite because you get to rest and play car games and blast music with your favorite people! I have been on 4 road trips with Mark Thomas and I can say we never have a dull moment. I love every minute I get to spend with my best friend! When we arrived in California we checked in and then headed to the beach to relax, ride some bikes and enjoy each others company while also enjoying the perfect California weather. After a lazy afternoon we got all dressed up and headed to dinner. It is tradition that we go to P.F. Chang's for Marks birthday dinner and every P.F. Chang's was super busy so finally we settled on an hour and a half wait. I was happy where we were waiting because the restaurant was connected to a mall that had the BIGGEST Forever 21 i have ever seen! (and I have been to many forever 21s) I was all dressed up with wedges on and shirt tucked in so I told myself I would not try on anything, I would just go look... (never just go look) I tried on so many clothes and finally walked out with three shirts with perfect timing to go sit down at the restaurant. Dinner was great and then we all headed home and conked out, we were so tired from the drive. Saturday morning we woke up and headed to six flags!!!!!!! I LOVE SIX FLAGS! I have been three times in the past year I love it so much! I love the thrill of the roller coasters its such a rush! We got to the park right when they opened so we ran to our favorite ride X2! All day we rode rides and finally as it was getting darker I started to feel a little dizzy and sick so luckily we headed out to go get dinner. We were going to go try some fun restaurant in L.A. but ended up at a mexican food place and a hamburger place. I am limited on what I can eat so I went to the burger place and got a shake and fries that were to die for! they were sooo yummy! After dinner we headed home to go sing happy birthday to mark and just relax and talk. Mark, Sharla and I went to the hot tub for a little to get warm and relax our feet from walking all day. Sunday morning we got up in a rush to hurry and pack and get ready for church and head out. We all thought we were going to a HOTTIE singles ward that we had gone to the year before but ended up being a family ward.... it's alright we enjoyed sacrament meeting and then headed to get something to eat. Although vacations have the excitement of theme parks or relaxation at the beach my favorite things about vacations are the times I can sit back and enjoy friends, family and the beauty of the earth. When we would go to bed every night we all had "pillow talk" and just talked about life, I love those moments. Also when we went to brunch after church I walked over to the closest store to get some gluten free food and just enjoyed the wind blowing in my hair and the sunshine on that beautiful sunday that I got to spend in California. I am so blessed that I have opportunities to go on mini vacations and take a step back and relax from the real world! Now here are some photos from my trip! Enjoy!

Triple Blind Date

Blind dates have always been so much fun for me! I find it a thrill to wait and see what my date is going to look like and what their personality is like (of course I try and Facebook stalk them if they have one) who wouldn't??? I have been on many blind dates and seem to always have a good experience with them. This past weekends blind date was particularly fun because it was set up and planned between my co-workers and I. One day at work I told one of my friends at work that I had the perfect guy for her and she responded with saying let's do a blind date and I will set you up! Of course i said yes! There are few at my work that are single so we invited one of our other friends from work to join the blind date. I had the perfect guys to set them both up with and they had someone for me. For the next week we started planning the date! We went through so many ideas of places to eat and activities to do. Finally we decided on paddle boating at Tempe Town Lakes and then going to dinner at a Mexican food restaurant called Tia Rosa's and then enjoying homemade ice cream at my house after the date, if it was going well! ;) Friday came and we went shopping for some new pieces of clothing to perfect our outfits, we were all soo excited! 6:30 rolled around and we picked up our dates and headed to Tempe Town Lakes. Sadly when we got there the paddle boats were no longer in use. We were so sad but we had some what of a plan B. We headed to dinner and hoped that dinner wouldn't fall through. We arrived and dinner was great! After dinner we headed back to my house and enjoyed homemade ice cream and played the funniest games. Plan B turned out to be a way better idea so that we could really get to see the guys personalities, and we defiantly saw them! I have never laughed so hard. We played a game called telephone charades. It's like the game telephone but with acting something out. There are two teams and one team member acts out an action or person we give them then the next person acts it out to the next and so on....finally the last person on the team guesses what they are acting. We made the guys act things out like Britney Spears, hair models, and my personal favorite, belly dancers, they really got into character, it was awesome! It was a very good night of laughs and good company. Those boys were good sports and I loved hanging out with my friends outside of work! Blind date=success!!!!!
